I decided to make the run from Memphis to Nashville in time to catch a late meal and some music in one of the too numerous to count clubs that populate the city. Since I needed to be in Nashville at the beginning of June for the UConnect Conference, I thought I would check out the Gaylord Opryland resort, and get an idea of what to expect.

Of course, after last year's conference at the Gaylord outside Dallas, I already had a pretty good idea. And I was right. It was exactly the same... but different. (www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylordopryland/)

Everything in the resort is authentic and well done. In some ways, it's like a Disney resort, but without the animatronics. The resort houses so many examples of local culture, you could (but shouldn't) spend your entire stay inside the structure, and still get a good feel for Nashville, the city. If you haven't been to one of the Gaylords, you owe it to yourself to go. Everything is first rate, and it's difficult to remember that you're always inside the building.

Then there's the UConnect conference. If you're reading this newsletter, you really should be going. Aside from having the opportunity to attend umpteen different learning sessions, you can meet some of the vendors you may not have talked with before.

And, this is the second year for the eC-BP.org Best Practices Awards. If you've submitted a nomination, you already know about the presentation. If you haven't submitted a nomination, or been nominated it's too late for this year. But don't let next year get away from you. Nominees this year include the likes of Archer Daniels Midland, McDonald's, Lamps Plus, Whirlpool, and Northern Tool. That's good company to be competing with.

I'm on the road again this week, but will be back in town on June 6th for UConnect. I'll be looking for you there.

Until next time;
Cheers!
Cecil
