What is the eC-BP.org Best Practices Award?
The eC-BP.org Best Practices Award has been established to honor, recognize and promote innovative best practices in implementing and sustaining electronic commerce standards between businesses.

To identify the organizations and individuals that exemplify these qualities, eC-BP.org has enlisted a list of experts (available at www.eC-bp.org) to accurately and objectively evaluate the overall effectiveness of world-class e-Commerce professionals and programs. The winner will set the benchmark of excellence for all organizations involved in e-Commerce. 

First Place and Honorable Mention Awards will be announced and given to the 2005 winners at the Awards Dinner Banquet held on June 7, 2004 at The Gaylord Hotel, Grapevine (Dallas), TX.

The top three entries will be denoted as finalists and will be contacted in advance of the Awards Banquet.  An objective panel of leading experts and practitioners in the e-Commerce field will act as judges, and will evaluate and score each application. 

Applications will be accepted for recognition as Best Overall e-Commerce Organization of the Year

The award is based on the evaluation of the following criteria in the realm of business-to-business e-Commerce integration.  This may include but is not limited to: EDI, hosted web and Internet based e-Commerce applications, online synchronized databases/catalogs, RFID, real-time information exchange, application integration, logistics, supply chain management, online sourcing tools, and barcode implementations.

Rules, Regulations and Procedures for Entry Submission:
To be considered for the 2005 eC-BP.org Best Practices Awards, your entry MUST meet the following requirements:

  1. Each entry should include answers to all of the questions, as well as attached supporting  documents, figures, testimonials and pictures, which you are encouraged to include (if you would like these items returned you must specify this on your application.)
  2. Completed Application Submission Form must be included.  
  3. The entries must be received by 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, May 15, 2005. The contact person listed on the Application Submission Form will be contacted via e-mail upon receipt of your entry. 
  4. All entry forms MUST be complete.
  5. Each category contains multiple questions, which add up to 100%. Each entry must answer all questions listed. Failure to answer any portion of the application may result in the forfeiture of the entry. If your entry fails to meet the requirements and format noted herewith, you may be disqualified and forfeit your application fee as a result. The judges and organizer are not obligated to disclose judging decisions, feedback or scores given, number of applications received or names of organizations applying for awards that did not make the finals.

All contents (figures, photographs, etc.) of each application are confidential. Each judge has signed a non-disclosure agreement, and is required to return the entries to eC-BP.org when they are finished. SPECIAL NOTE: Submissions may be sent in many ways. The eC-BP.org Best Practices Awards and eC-BP.org assume no responsibility for any entries sent in a format that is not traceable nor is signed for by anyone other than e-Commerce Best Practices Awards or eC-BP.org employees. No materials will be returned to the submitting company unless specified in writing at the time of entry. 

Evaluation Panel
An objective panel of judges will evaluate and score each application.  This panel contains leading experts and practitioners in the e-Commerce and EDI fields and judging organizations are excluded from submitting applications for the awards.  Judges who may be consultants in the industry are forbidden from judging their clients or discussing their client's initiatives with other judges. The decisions of the Evaluation Panel and eC-BP.org are final. The top three entries in each category will be denoted as finalists and notified in advance of the Awards Banquet.

  2. What was your approach in evaluating the best solution?
  3. What were the alternate solutions under evaluation?
  4. Briefly describe the solution implemented.
  5. Briefly describe the technology platform and integration with existing applications.
  6. Provide a time-line of major events from deciding on the solution to project completion. 
  7. Describe how the solutions was adopted and promoted by the different departments of the company.
  8. Provide total numbers and percentages of target audience adoption.
  9. Provide supporting evidence of a Return on Investment (ROI) model and document measurable results.
  10. Briefly describe the competitive advantage gained.

Supporting documentation:  Don't forget you may include supporting documents-such as brochures, figures, statistics and testimonials.  These will be held in confidence.
